What a terrific time to live in or visit the Town of Paradise Valley!
As the Mayor I am both proud and privileged to serve the residents of Paradise Valley and to work with a talented Town Council in the leadership of our community. These are exciting times filled with changes all around us leading to a new generation of Paradise Valley exceptionalism and pride in a quality of life that we offer for residents and visitors alike.
The Town is making significant investments in public safety and infrastructure while maintaining a strong cash reserve and no local property tax. The financial stewardship of Town resources remains prudent and conservative. We are paying down long-term pension obligations that will save millions in future tax dollars. The Town’s resort industry is vibrant with most properties performing better than pre-recessional levels. Older resort properties are being renovated or redeveloped to position themselves for the next 20 years. The Town’s places of worship and schools are strong and continue to play an integral role in the social and cultural fabric of our community.
This progress results from the hands of not just the Town Council and Town staff, but the hands of over 200 residents who volunteer their time and expertise to the benefit of the Town.
These resident volunteers serve as judges, police volunteers, planning commissioners, and serve on any number of the Town’s active boards, committees and forums. This high level of resident volunteerism is quite frankly the only way that our limited government model can work. We depend on residents with expertise and energy to apply those resources towards the benefit of the Town and our Paradise Valley community. The next time you see a Town volunteer please thank them for their service.
On behalf of the entire Town Council I thank those who volunteer or have volunteered in the past to make this community as special as we all know it to be. I also look forward to meeting and working with those new to Town or new to Town service. Resident involvement and leadership are critical to ensuring that our Town continues in the right direction with both progress and improved quality of life while maintaining a respect and reverence for its history. Together we can build pride in our community and become a symbol for effective and efficient resident-driven local and limited government.
I am excited to lead our Town into the next two years with all of the changes surrounding. Please join us on this journey and be engaged or at least be informed. Help us make the Town of Paradise Valley the most incomparable place to live and raise a family. It is a terrific time to live in the Town of Paradise Valley.
I look forward to seeing you around Town!
Yours in Service,
Michael Collins, Mayor
